光纤交换机光纤通道协议介绍

光纤通道(FC,Fibre Channel)协议是美国国家标准所指定的一种串行高速、低延时、低误码的标准协议能够为存储设备、IP 数据网、音频流等应用提供高速数据传输的骨干网络技术。随着光纤通道在不同领域的应用,在光纤通道协议的基础上,形成了应用于不同领域的光纤通道协议簇,这些协议簇推动和发展了光纤通道协议。 在存储区域网络中,由于存在大量的数据信息需要传送,传统的TCP/IP 网络难以满足需要,光纤通道协议的低延时和低误码,支持点到点结构、环行拓扑结构和交换拓扑结构,极大的满足存储区域网络的应用。通过光纤通道交换机将各个目标设备进行连接,以及光纤通道交换机之间的级联,可以扩大存储区域网络的规模。 光纤通道传输速率高,延时低,以及扩展性强。

传输速率:光纤通道技术在介质上传输的常用速率为1.0625Gbit/s,此速率又称为全速(Full Speed)。除此之外还有该速率的1/2,1/4,1/8倍速率,当然也有该速率的2倍数据传输速率(2.125Gbit/s)以及4倍数据传输速率(4.25Gbit/s)。而考虑到8B/10B编码以及其他的开销的情况下,在全速的情况下净负荷的传输速率为100MB/s。

 

扩展能力强和灵活的拓扑:光纤通道技术具有很好的扩展性能,相对SCSI通道最多只能容纳15个设备的限制,光纤仲裁环路上最多可以容纳126个设备,而交换结构中则可以容纳 6万多个设备。而且因为光纤通道物理连接拓扑结构有点到点,仲裁环路和分组交换结构等拓扑结构,所以光纤通道设备可以通过光纤仲裁环路或者交换结构组成存储区域网络。而SCSI 技术则只有点到点的拓扑结构。由此可见光纤通道技术既具备良好的扩展能力,有具有灵活的拓扑结构 。

标准的协议映射:光纤通路可以作为多个高层协议的数据传送载体,具有多种映射方式。如 IP、SCSI-3、IPI 磁盘、HIPPI、ESCON、单字节通路命令集等。当然常见的是SCSI-3 的映射,被称为“FCP”。

底层控制:本地所进行的操作与全域信息的关系极小,这就代表着,一个端口几乎不受其他端口的影响。从而使上层的工作量极大的减少。 开销很少:由于采用 8B/10B 编码和稳定可靠的硬件使得误码率极低,从而使光纤通道协议的开销很小,净负荷传输速率较高。
