It's been a while not publish any words here. As during the past half year, I'm totally occupied by a new filed for me: driver development on Mac. Although the learn curve is tough and painful, meanwhile it's a very interesting stuff I have ever experienced.
My current work is to prepare driver for some professional audio device. The required interface covers USB and FireWire. At the end of last month, I just accomplished the alpha version of USB driver. And I'll post some tips in the following chapters. Today let's start with the driver model provided by Apple.
Most of the devices connected to a Macintosh installed with Mac OS X will be categorized into I/O Kit device. Apple privdes a sophisticated infrastructure for the driver of this kind of devices.
