Limiting bandwidth requires two steps
- Create an address name for youtube.com
- Create a traffic shaping firewall policy
This policy will only affect traffic between users and YouTube, while not affecting the rest of the Internet traffic. Ensure the policy is higher in the list than the policy controlling user traffic to the Internet.
Create an address name
Create an address name for YouTube.com.
To create an address
- Go to Firewall > Address.
- Select Create New.
- Enter the Name of YouTube
- Select the Type as FQDN.
- Enter the YouTube URL.
Create a traffic shaping firewall policy
To create the firewall policy
- Go to Firewall > Policy.
- Select Create New.
- Set the Source interface and address to the same settings as the policy you have that allows users to access the Internet.
- Set the destination address to the address created above for YouTube.
- Select Traffic Shaping.
- Specify the maximum bandwidth you want to allow the policy to use.
- Set the remainder of the firewall policy as required.
- Select OK
Note that this policy is not per connection. It is the amount total for all users. For example, if you set the bandwidth to 500kb, and there are five users, each user would have 100kb each.
