ubuntu试用小结

时至今日，linux还是有很大的局限性，非计算机专业人员想用它还真有点困难。而现在windows成了计算机学习的标准，人们大都用惯了windows，都习惯了那上面的特性，再换其它操作系统的时候都会下意识的跟windows作比较，就会感觉它有这样那样的问题。就使得linux普及遇到很大问题。

linux用的版本也不少了，不过都没用多长时间。 因为平时工作都是用的windows上面的软件，而在linux下大多数都不太兼容。真正用的时间长的是做上个工程的时候，那个工程的工控机装的是turbolinux dataserver 7.0+sybase，很古老的一个版本，不过可以在那上面直接安装kylix3，没出任何问题。后来做技术支持，不用到处乱跑了，公司给了两台电脑，于是就一台安装windowsXP，一台安装FC5(玩)和turbolinux(实验用)，惊喜的发现FC5上能远程登录windows桌面，很长时间没接触过这个了，没想到都有这个东东了。于是平时就用FC5，远程登录windowsXP处理工作。

前些天安装了一个gentoo2007，还需要再装中文支持，好麻烦。于是换了ubuntu，这个对中文支持安装很简单，而且软件升级也很容易，虽然升级得到的不是最新版本，不过一般来说也用不着最新的吧，就好象现在都出vista一年了，而大多数人还是用得XP。不过ubuntu跟gentoo是桌面就是一个模子里出来的，不知道认抄了谁的：）

废话太多了点。首先是安装，在网上有很多安装教程，我是从硬盘上安装的，从光盘安装读光盘太慢。推荐一篇文章：Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) 安装（硬盘安装）与配置图文指南。先下载安装盘ubuntu-7.04-alternate-i386.iso，硬盘安装需要的启动文件initrd.gz和vmlinuz，需要注意的是这是X86的启动文件，如果是AMD64就要换一下，它们不能通用的，否则安装基本系统的时候会提示光盘中找不到文件，下面给出下载地址：

initrd.gz  vmlinuz

这里最大的问题就是需要grub，不象FC可以直接从dos下安装。下载个grub4dos，解压从dos下运行grub.exe进入grub,按c键调出命令模式，输入如下命令：

kernel (hdx,y)/vmlinuz root=/dev/ram0 ramdisk_size=256000 devfs=mount,dall
initrd (hdx,y)/initrd.gz
boot

其中的(hdx,y)里的x,y要根据实际情况来改。

另一种方法是把下载到的压强包里面的grldr和menu.lst两个文件拷贝到C盘根目录中，修改menu.lst文件，留下三行：

color black/cyan yellow/cyan
timeout 30
default /default

把其它的内容删掉，加入下面内容

title install Ubuntu7.04
kernel (hd0,1)/vmlinuz root=/dev/ram0 ramdisk_size=256000 devfs=mount,dall
initrd (hd0,1)/initrd.gz
boot

然后修改boot.ini，在[operating systems]下面加上一行：

c:/grldr=ubuntu

OK，准备工作已经做完，重启电脑，选择ubuntu启动安装

下面就是按照提示安装，最危险的是在分区的时候，要是对这个不了解最好找个比较了解的人帮你吧。

在最后复制文件的时候会在85%上停一会，网上有人说最好拔下网线，但是根据我的实验并不是这样。在提示是否下载语言支持的时候先否，如果你是一直在线的，那么在安装过程中设置好网络，那么在85%这儿只停很短的时间就过去了，这样安装完成后进入ubuntu界面就是中文的，但是没有输入法等支持。如果你是ADSL，需要拨号，那么在这里需要停20分钟左右，安装完进入ubuntu后要设置拨号才能上网，界面不是中文，这样看来是在安装过程中停的那段时间是从网上下载了一些简单的语言支持，如果网络不通就会重试等待，停的时间就长了，就是选择了不下载语言支持也不行，这不知道是怎么回事，不过我没试过先下载会怎么样。

安装完成后有很多需要安装支持包，用apt-get命令，或者用软件源图形工具都可以很方便的安装。这里要说的是在安装某些包的时候会让你插入光盘，可是我们没有光盘，怎么办？从网上找了下没见到有说这个问题的，不知道是因为太简单了还是怎么回事，其实这里只要把下载的安装盘mount到/media/cdrom中就可以了。

在用的过程中，要编译从网上下载的源程序，可能会提示缺少某些包而不能安装，这时候就要手动安装这些包了，还是用apt-get install命令，输入包的前几个字母连按两下tab键，会列出以这些字母开头的包，从中找到你需要的补齐就可以了。

mount和apt-get等很多命令都要root权限，所以在前面加上sudo，会提示要密码，输入你在安装过程中创建的用户的密码就可以了，当然你也可以进入系统后用passwd root命令修改root密码。

再就是软件更新源，就用欧洲官方源就可以了，我的是网通adsl，用清华、台服源都慢的要死，而且出错
