Perst for .NET (C#) and .NET Compact Framework

The Perst open-source project is available as a free download, though a licence must be purchased for commercial or closed-source products. The object-oriented database comes in Java and C# versions. It has "ACID" properties (atomicity, consistency, isolation, and durability) and supports a fast recovery time for rollbacks. Also, it has a runtime footprint between 30k and 300k, depending on the feature set, including optional garbage collection, automatic schema evolution, and XML import/export utilities. Perst supports a range of data-storage implementations, including B-Tree for reduced disk I/O, R-Tree for spatial data representation, and T-Tree for main-memory database containers. It's integrated with open-source tools like AspectJ and Jassist.

 

ScimoreDB Embedded database

ScimoreDB embedded database is an in-process running SQL database with 100.000+ deployments that has a small footprint, an easy-to-use interface and yet offers a full set of stand-alone database servers features. System.Data.SQLite is an enhanced version of the originalSQLitedatabase engine.  It is a complete drop-in replacement for the original sqlite3.dll (you can even rename it to sqlite3.dll).  It has no linker dependency on the .NET runtime so it can be distributed independently of .NET, yet embedded in the binary is a complete ADO.NET 2.0 provider for full managed development.
