What I need to do before I travel

Before you travel to Australia, you should complete the Australia Travel Declaration.

先填写一个申报,填报地址和说明:https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/australia-travel-declaration

Australia Travel Declaration

Before you travel to Australia, you should complete the Australia Travel Declaration at least 72 hours before your departure for Australia.

The Australia Travel Declaration collects your contact details in Australia, flight details, quarantine requirements and your health status.

This information helps the Australian Government determine your quarantine arrangements (if required) and also allows the relevant health departments to contact you if someone you travelled with tests positive for COVID-19.If you do not complete the declaration you may not be able to board your flight, or you may experience delays when you arrive in Australia.

The Australia Travel Declaration is for the below travellers entering Australia:

Travellers who do not need to complete the Australia Travel Declaration include:

  • flight crew
  • foreign diplomats
  • people travelling on military flights.

Before you commence your declaration, have the following information ready:

  • passport details
  • trip information
  • destination details
  • contact details.

You must use up-to-date Microsoft Edge, Safari, Google Chrome or Firefox. The Australia Travel Declaration does not work in Internet Explorer.

You will need to create an account, which will allow you to manage your current and future declarations in one place. However, you cannot update your Australia Travel Declaration answers once it has been submitted. You will need to submit a new Australia Travel Declaration and then delete the previous one. This includes if there is a change in your flight, health status or you made a mistake.

Each adult should complete their own declaration. However, parents should complete one for any child under 15 years of age.

You do not have to pay for an Australia Travel Declaration — it is free.

Once you’ve completed the Australia Travel Declaration, you will receive an email with details you can show (either electronically or printed) before you board your flight and on arrival in Australia.

The outcome in your email will have either a:

  • green response (with a tick), if you do not need to quarantine on arrival
  • blue response (with an hourglass), if you need to quarantine on arrival
  • red response (with a cross), if you indicated that you:
    • have COVID-19 like symptoms
    • have been near a person with COVID-19 symptoms.
    • have been in an location of interest in New Zealand
    • have not acknowledged the need to have a negative COVID-19 test result to travel to Australia
  • For red responses, airlines will determine if you can travel. If you can travel to Australia you will need to quarantine on arrival.

NOTE: Giving false or misleading information to the Australian Government is a serious offence. If convicted, the maximum penalty is imprisonment for 12 months.

The Department has authorised a third party to collect the Australia Travel Declaration information on its behalf. You will be redirected from this page to an external Australia Travel Declaration page.

Once you’ve submitted your declaration, you will receive your confirmation email from 'AU- Health Aero no-reply@health.aero'

Safe travel zones

A safe travel zone is an agreement with another country to travel to Australia quarantine-free, provided a traveller has not been in a COVID-19 outbreak location in the last 14 days. Currently Australia has a safe travel zone agreement with:

COVID-19 conditions for safe travel zone flights from New Zealand

There are currently no COVID-19 conditions for quarantine-free (green zone) flights from New Zealand.

All travellers should check the arrangements in both their place of arrival and place of final destination as quarantine requirements may apply.

For more information, see Department of Health: Coronavirus (COVID-19) advice for international travellers

Arrival in Australia

Airports in Australia have green and red zones to ensure the separation of passengers who need to quarantine on arrival.

If you travel on a quarantine-free flight, you will be guided through the green zone to complete all border clearance processes in the airport of arrival in Australia.

For more information for travellers arriving in the green and red travel zone see the Department of Health website.

Support

If you are having issues with the ATD system, please use the following to help guide you.

I can’t create an ATD account

Verify your email before you create an account.

Click ‘send verification code’ and then check your email. The verification code is sent from noreply@cps.com.au

Step 1: enter the verification code and click ‘verify code’

Step 2: enter your password, display name and click ‘create’.

The verification code is only valid for 4 minutes from receipt.

The Australia Travel Declaration will time out after 30 minutes of inactivity.

I’m logged out or timed-out of an unfinished ATD

You cannot save an unfinished Australia Travel Declaration.

If it times out before you complete it, you will need to begin a new Australia Travel Declaration.

I can’t complete or submit the ATD

If you cannot get past Step 1, check the following:

  • you are using Microsoft Edge, Safari, Google Chrome or Firefox. Internet Explorer will not work.
  • remove all spaces and any characters apart from letters and numbers from the travel document number field, when entering your passport details
  • ensure special characters such as hyphens (-) and apostrophes (‘) are removed (only use letters and numbers in personal information fields).
  • complete all the required fields marked with a red asterisk (*).

If you cannot get past Step 2, check the following:

  • Complete all the required fields. These are marked with a red asterisk (*).

If you cannot get past the final step, check the following:

  • click on the ‘Important Notice’ link
  • tick the declaration box if you agree to consent
  • click ‘Submit’ at the bottom of the screen.

I haven’t received an email confirmation after submitting the ATD

The email confirmation of your Australian Travel Declaration will come from AU-Health Aero (no-reply@health.aero).

If you cannot see your Australian Travel Declaration outcome email, check your junk or spam folder.

If you receive an email that is blue and pending, this is your final outcome and although it mentions ‘pending’ there is no more action needed. The blue response (with an hourglass), means you need to quarantine on arrival.

You can log into your Australian Travel Declaration account to see your submission and outcome at any time.

I can’t log in to my ATD account after submitting the Australia Travel Declaration

If you are unable to log into your submitted Australian Travel Declaration, you can reset your password:

  • click on ‘forgot your password?’ (below the password field on the login screen)
  • enter your email address in the required field
  • click on ‘submit’
  • check your email for link to reset your password
  • reset your password
  • log in to the submitted Australian Travel Declaration.

Enter flight details correctly

Enter the details of the flight that arrives in Australia. You can find this on your booking confirmation.

Correct format for flight numbers are NZ103 (not NZ0103), QF2 (not QF002).

Entered passport or other details incorrectly

It is not possible to change the ATD once the ATD has been submitted. Each declaration is only valid for a single flight for the traveller named in that declaration.

Once you have submitted your ATD, you cannot correct your passport number. You will need to create a new ATD from your ATD account and delete the existing ATD.

To correct other information such as personal details or passport expiry date, you will need to create a new ATD account from another email address and submit a new ATD.

Please note that the inability to complete the ATD again to correct your details will not delay or prevent you from boarding your aircraft, subject to meeting airline specific requirements.
