A: Hi , Kevin.

K: Hi, Alan.

A: Today, we are here to talk about happiness.

K: Good, as you pick this topic. I would like to ask first. How do you define happiness?

A: As all known,Happiness is an emotional or affective state that is characterized by feelings of 

enjoyment, pleasure, and satisfaction.It can not be seen, but we can feel. It included both     physical and mental.

K: Yeah, I think so. Do you think happiness needs extra things?

A: Yeah, money, health and so on could be the basis of happiness. Some people regard money as 

god. It is wrong opinion. We need not too much money,enough money may be perfect.Do you always do physical exercise to get happiness?

K:  Yes, I do some exercise, like basketball,jogging. But I don't think exercise can bring you

happiness. It only make me relieved and relaxed. Happiness, I think, is

most mental related. So, you think money is not important?

A: Yeah, money could buy most of things in the world, but happiness can not be bought in the

supermarket. Millionaires are not happier than average people. It could not buy a healthy body.

I always run on the playground. After doing exercises, I feel very relax, and my mood feel better. It also gives me a good body. 

K: We students always under the pressure of studying and other things. Do you have any suggestions to deal with?

A: To my opinion, it is normal that modern people live under the pressure.Some measures should 

be taken to cope with the situation. Try to have a close to your family and friends.They could be

the best listeners to share your happiness and sorrow. You would be relaxed after you take talks

with them.

K: Yeah, it may be a good suggestion. But have you ever had a bad time?

A:  Absolutely. When I get the Bachelor Degree.I choose take part in the postgraduate 

entrance exams. Eventually,I got a low score. I always think that I am an excellent man and why the result do not fit my demand. After several days, I become convinced that it maybe the will of god. So according to your circumstance, do not expect too much. Sometimes, it is likely to get happiness if you satisfied with yourself easier. So what about you?

K: I have worked for a whole year at an electrical construction company. I don't like the job. Drawing CAD drawings, deciding where to put the tube and how deep to bury. I think it sucks. Sometimes, when free on the construction site, I just watching the crane lifting heavy steel staffs up and down, up and down and wandering those crane drivers must be very unhappy. 

A:Why do you think they are not happy?

K: Their job is more boring than mine, at least I can surfing the Internet and using QQ when I 

take a break. Those drivers are always in their driving seat for a long time. 

A: Only the long time sitting? Think about the bus driver.

K: More than that. Motor crane driver has to bear the noise their machine makes. If a noise 

disturbing you, what would you do ?

A: I just walk away. 

K: Yes, you can just walk away. But they cannot. If you cannot walk away you can use earplugs 

like cotton, gum or something like that. But they cannot, either. Because they have to follow the 

orders from the interphone. 

A: How Terrible it is.

K: Except the motor crane, there is another kind of crane you can see from the site far away, cause 

they are so huge. 80 meters tall, a long horizontal arm. The man who drives this crane have to eat 

their cold lunch 80 meters above the earth. 

A: Why?

K: Because climbing up and down is so hard. 80 meters tall, you can imagine. The driver has to 

take their lunch by himself.

A: I see.

K: At first, I think they must be very unhappy, but my mind changed after talking with them several times. On the contrary, they are quite happy. They like their job. They think it's cool to 

drive crane rather than taxi. And the payment is good. I realized that happiness is simple. Just do 

what you like and got someone to pay you for what you done.  So I quit job to start my computer 

science study. I love computer, so I hope I can get someone pay me to do computer related staff 

after graduation.
