Can't open items in Inbox
Hi there,

We have done Exchange database defragmentation - no problem registered, but now clients cannot open SOME (not all) of their emails in their Inboxes. I have tried to download messages through POP3 - same result. System registers in Event log:

Error 0xfffff9bf occurred while rendering message 0001-0000000d1d67 for download for user user@domain.com.
For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.

Event ID: 1023

Outlook just says that "Can't open an item" if I click on it. Subject, name email address and date/time are still visible in a list of items in Inbox. Any ideas (Except restoring from backup)?

Many thanks

Alexander

Hi Alexander,

Sound like you might have some logical issues within the database. Running the isinteg utility against the store may correct these issues.

1) Dismount the database
2) Run "isinteg -s<servername> -fix -test alltests"
3) Run the command until it returns 0 fixes ... usually take 3 times

Hope this Helps,

Do you think this will be the same for OWA 2000 where the inbox is displayed
fine, however when trying to open a message it comes up with an HTTP 500
error, page cannot be displayed?
