Volley源码分析之基本流程

前言

Volley是2013年google/IO大会发布的一个网络请求框架,特点是处理密集的网络请求,效率高,如果请求数据大,量少的话,建议不使用Volley。下面我们就从代码的角度来看下Volley到底是怎样工作的。


源码分析

在分析源码前,我们先来看看Volley的官方文档中的一张Volley的工作流程图,如下图所示:

一开始看到这个图的时候,我也是迷迷糊糊,这到底是神马?相信,你也一样。

我们从最熟悉的Volley.newRequestQueue(Context context)开始:

代码12行开始,会有一个判断,这里就是android3.0以上使用HurlStack(HttpUrlConnection),android3.0以下使用HttpClientStack(HttpClient)。当然也可以使用我们自定义的Stack,比如使用okhttp,这在我的另一篇博文Volley使用OkHttp作为底层请求。不过,HttpClient已经不再更新,所以不建议使用了。

继续。24行代码,这里创建了一个RequestQueue,顾名思义,我们能猜到,这是管理请求的一个类。进入start方法:

这里主要是创建并启动了CacheDispatcher和NetworkDispatcher,顾名思义。前者是处理缓存的,后者是处理网络请求的。而它们都是Thread。代码第8行开始循环创建NetworkDispatcher并启动,通过源码我们可以看出,默认是4个。

也就是当我们写下Volley.newRequestQueue(Context context);这段代码时,后台就会有5个线程启动,1个缓存线程和4个网络请求线程。处于等待状态,等待我们的请求。我们需要将请求添加到RequestQueue,比如queue.add(new StringRequest())。当然,我们也可以自定义请求,比如Volley没有的XMLRequest等等。下面我们来看看add方法:

代码13行,判断当前请求是否需要缓存,默认是需要缓存的,当然我们可以调用Request的setShouldCache(false)来取消缓存。既然默认都可以缓存,那么我们就来看看缓存线程CacheDispatcher是如何工作的:

代码8行开始一个while(true)循环,也就是这个线程是一直处于运行状态。代码21行,尝试从缓存里获取数据,如果数据为空,则放入网络请求队列中,然后在代码31行,判断缓存是否过期,如果过期,则放入网络请求队列中。就不需要进行网络请求了,直接从缓存中获取数据,在代码40行,解析数据。通过接口ResponseDelivery回调,我们就可以在主线程中获取到数据了。我们来看看ResponseDelivery的postResponse方法,ResponseDelivery是一个接口,真正实现的是ExecutorDelivery:

这里的mResponsePoster,是在构造函数中创建的,我们直接看代码:

是不是很熟悉,handler的post方法,这就是为什么我们能够在主线程中收到返回数据了。是不是很赞!

既然缓存线程CacheDispatcher的工作原理我们已经明白了,那么现在就去看看NetworkDispatcher是如何工作的:

3行开始也是一个while(true)循环,说明网请求处理线程NetworkDispatcher也是一直不断运行的。代码30行调用了Network的performRequest方法进行网络请求。Network只是一个接口,真正实现的是BasicNetwork,我们来看看performRequest方法:

代码11行,我们可以看到调用了HttpStack的performRequest来处理请求。至于成功后数据如何回到主线程,在上面CacheDispatcher的地方我们已经讲过。。。


总结

现在我们回到一开始的那张图,是不是就可以看明白了。我们来捋一捋:当我们发送请求后,首先会去缓存中去取,如果有数据且未过期,则直接解析返回,如果没有数据或是过期数据,则进行网络请求,得到数据,解析返回。
