Edit

Install Bundler

gem install bundler

Install Rdoc

Edit

Create a MySQL database to use with Redmine

mysql -u root –p
mysql> create database redmine character set utf8;
mysql> create user 'redmine'@'localhost' identified by 'my_password';
mysql> grant all privileges on redmine.* to 'redmine'@'localhost' identified by 'my_password';
mysql> quit

Now the database and a user to be used with it is created. Also the user has the rights to work on the database that was created.

Edit

Configure database.yml

cd /var/www/redmine/config
cp database.yml.example database.yml
vi database.yml

Change it to look like:
production:
    adapter: mysql
    database: redmine
    host: localhost
    username: redmine
    password: my_password
    encoding: utf8

If you're running Redmine with MySQL and ruby1.8, replace the adapter name
with `mysql`

Edit

Migrate and load default data

cd redmine
rake generate_secret_token
RAILS_ENV=production rake db:migrate
RAILS_ENV=production rake redmine:load_default_data
Edit

Fix rights for the apache user

cd /var/www
chmod -R 755 redmine
Edit

Test the installation by running the WEBrick web server

cd /var/www/redmine
ruby script/rails server -e production

Once WEBrick has started, point your browser to http://localhost:3000/
you should now see the application welcome page.

Use the default administrator account to log in:
Login:admin
Password:admin

Edit

Redmine is now installed and usable.

Enjoy!
Good Luck!

Edit

Start mysql remote connection

 mysql -u root -p
 mysql>GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO root@localhost IDENTIFIED BY "my_password" WITH GRANT OPTION;
 mysql>GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO root@"%" IDENTIFIED BY  "my_password" WITH GRANT OPTION;

The first command : Distribute authority for the user 'root' to access localhost. "my_password" is the password.
The second command : Distribute authority for the user 'root' to access from any where.
