MRI-Data Analyst (Senior) – NIH – Bethesda, MD

Kelly Government Solutions is a strategic supplier and business partner to the federal government and its key suppliers.  Through our partnership with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Kelly Government Solutions offers administrative, IT, engineering, scientific, and healthcare professionals the opportunity to work with one of the most prestigious research organizations in the world.  We are currently seeking a Senior MRI-Data Analyst to work onsite with the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) in Bethesda, MD.

TASKS

The contractor shall:

1. Collaborate with staff on the pain research team involving brain imaging of healthy volunteers and patients with pain and affective disorders.

2. Work with principal investigators, research fellows and staff on the planning and implementation of protocols including optimizing the experimental design for neuroimaging analysis and assisting with power analysis.

3. Provide training on neuroimaging analysis for trainees

4. Process and analyze data sets; prepare graphics; use stimulus presentation software (e.g., E-prime, Presentation, PsychToolbox, python-based tools).

5. Perform statistics and mathematical modelling (computational modelling, network-based analyses, machine learning) with MatLab, R, SAS, SPSS, Python, etc.

6. Work with programming languages (e.g., C/C++, IDL, Java, Perl, Python) and neuroimaging software packages (AFNI, Freesurfer, FSL, SPM and other packages).

7. Perform fMRI, MEG, psychophysiology, and TMS acquisition and analysis. Assist with scanning at 3T MRI scanners and transition to 7T.

8. Interact with members of the NIH Functional MRI Core Facility, the AFNI Core, and other core facilities (Machine Learning core, Data sharing Core).

9. Utilize NIH’s cluster computing capabilities in analyses

REQUIREMENTS

The contractor ideally has:

1. PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Neuroscience or a related discipline.

2. Three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Master’s degree is equivalent to a PhD.

3. Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.

4. Expertise in statistics and mathematical modelling (familiarity with MatLab, R, Python, SAS, SPSS, etc.), including computational modelling, network-based analyses, and/or machine learning.

5. Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., C/C++, IDL, Java, Perl, Python) and neuroimaging software packages (AFNI, Freesurfer, FSL, SPM and other packages).

6. Expertise in fMRI acquisition and analysis.

7. Familiarity with MEG acquisition and analysis.

8. Familiarity with psychophysiology (autonomic measures, eye-tracking) acquisition and analysis.

9. Familiarity with TMS acquisition and analysis.

10. Familiarity with stimulus presentation software (e.g., E-prime, Presentation, PsychToolbox, python-based presentation tools).

11. Experience in network administration and database management, including cluster and cloud-based computing.

12. Experience mentoring trainees and training individuals in neuroimaging analysis.

13. Experience in preparing graphics.

14. Strong communications skills, both oral and written.

15. Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
