According to the documentation, the TIBET team has been working on this toolkit since 1997 with the goal of providing enterprise-class Ajax support.
It provides support for Web Services, low-level protocols, and prebuilt wrappers for Google, Amazon, and many other commonly used services.
Fully interactive browser-based IDE that simplifies development, debugging, and unit testing.

Flash/JavaScript Integration Kit

invoke ActionScript, and vice versa.

Google AJAXSLT

Based on work done with Google Maps, Google AJAXSLT is a JavaScript implementation of XSL Transformations (XSLT) using XPath. XSLT transforms XML documents into other languages such as HTML.

The framework consists of a single JavaScript file that acts as a wrapper around the XMLHttpRequest object by exposing two overloaded request functions: getXml and postXml.
Several attributes deal with pooling and caching, and several utility functions handle common tasks such as parsing the XML from the server and modifying the DOM.

Technically, this does not leverage the XMLHttpRequest object at the heart of Ajax, but the browser support is much more widespread.

SACK

The Simple Ajax Code Kit (SACK) was developed as a thin wrapper around the XMLHttpRequest object.
Its author, Gregory Wild-Smith, thought many of the other frameworks were too complex and attempted to perform tasks they shouldn’t, so he created SACK to simplify Ajax development.

XHConn

Instead of working directly with the XMLHttpRequest object, you instantiate an instance of XHConn, working with it in much the same way you would XHR.
