Symptom | |||
Cause | |||
This warning is generally due to the fact that the Rational XDE installer has failed to update a registry string called TrustedClasspath with the list of jar files needed for proper operation of the Rational XDE Data Modeler add-in. | |||
Resolving the problem | |||
The Rational XDE Data Modeler add-in requires the addition of some jar/zip files to the classpath used by the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine, which is stored in the following registry string value: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Java VM] "TrustedClasspath" In order to resolve the problem, close all running instances of Rational Rose, start regedit and navigate to the above registry string value. Right click on "TrustedClasspath", select "Modify" and enter the following values in the "Value Data" textbox. Assuming that XDE was installed in the directory: c:/program files/rational/xde modify this value by adding the paths to the following .jar/.zip files: c:/program files/rational/xde/addins/datamodeler/preferencesaddin.jar c:/program files/rational/xde/addins/common/xercesimpl.jar c:/program files/rational/xde/addins/common/xmlparserapis.jar c:/program files/rational/xde/addins/common/xalan.jar c:/program files/rational/xde/addins/common/xml-apis.jar c:/program files/rational/xde/addins/common/common.jar c:/program files/rational/rcsi/1.x/lib/rcsi.jar c:/program files/rational/xde/addins/common/common.zip The paths to these jar files should be separated by a ";". After adding the above paths, close regedit and restart Rational XDE. See also the related technote: 1156172 for additional modifications that may be required if IBM Rational® Rose® was ever installed. |
