Cloud computing is a style of computingwhere scalable and elastic IT enabledcapabilities are delivered as a service to external customers usingInternet technologies.

云计算可以让人员只关注核心业务以及客户的需求；解放了一群需要实时关注底层IT设备的人员。

reliable, timely, and cost-effective/flexibility,scalability, elasticity, and reliability

业务外包:去除外围业务比如HR，infra. 云计算与其类似。是一种趋势

AWS特点：

灵活:  据业务需求，灵活配置不同架构，编程语言环境，操作系统(比如说AMI)

         大型公司使用云，都是混合使用，一部分程序跑在公司的data center，一部分在cloud。在拥有云相关经验之后，他们开始迁移更多的系统到云上。最后，他们会将云永久作为他们it的一部分。

经济：only pay for what youuse.追求return on investment(ROI)

可扩展 弹性：动态添加减少AWS资源（ELB  Auto scaling）

         弹性：简单（最小的阻力）得动态扩张或者收缩计算资源

         AWS也适用一些短期工作（生物模拟测试），关键工作（handle corp data center down）及周期性工作(月末工资分发发票处理等)

安全： 点对点安全隐私

         硬件安全

安全服务：在不损害可扩展性基础之上，AWS各个service都提供了相应功能。

数据隐私：数据加密/数据备份

经验丰富： AWS基于amzon.com庞大的业务量，倾听客户提供更好的feature，吸收业界最佳实践

Compute& Networking

Auto Scaling is particularly well suitedfor applications that experience hourly,daily, or weekly variability in usage.

ELB: 提升great fault tolerance

Route 53(HA):   DNS web service.  53 也可用于将用户路由到AWS以外的基础设备。

Route 53 的工作原理：It answers DNS queries with low latency by using

a global network of DNS servers. Queriesfor your domain are automatically routed to the nearest DNS server, and thusare answered with the best possible performance.

AWS Direct Connect：建立从你公司的设备到AWS的稳固连接，which in many cases can reduce your network costs, increasebandwidth throughput, and provide a more

consistent network experience thanInternet-based connections

 

Storage& Content Delivery Network

S3 can be used to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time,from anywhere on the web.

EBS 适合用于系统需要数据库，文件系统或者访问块级存储。EBS是通过网络附加的，持久化与所绑定的实例生命周期无关。如何体现HA？

Storage Gateway：提供了本地IT环境跟AWS存储设备之间的联系（备份及用于灾备）

特点：低延迟，异步的同步本地数据到AWS存储介质（S3跟Glacier）。

使用它mirror 你的本地data到AWS ec2 instance

AWS Import/Export:    使用便携设备，转义大数据largeamounts of data到AWS上或者转出AWS。相比较升级你的宽带，这个服务特点是faster, 划算

支持导入数据到AWS  EBS snapshots/Amazon Glacier/

支持导入或者导出 S3 bucket

CloudFront ：低延迟，高速传输。包含静态动态线性化数据。一般跟S3  EC2协作。Origin server可以为your own datacenter 不一定是AWS instance

RDS

RDS会自动打包数据库软件，备份数据（保留一段时间），支持即时点的恢复。

Dynamo DB：

retrieve any amount of data, and serve any level of request traffic  and are replicated across 3 AvailabilityZones for high availability and durability。 所有数据都存储在SSD介质上。

DynamoDB automaticallyspreads the data and traffic for the table over a sufficient number of servers to

handle the requestcapacity specified by the customer and the amount of data stored。

根据用户规定请求数量，来决定使用集群方式处理请求，集群相应的管理问题由AWS来负责。

ElasticCache 缓存；支持 memcached，Redis。会自动检测failed cachednodes,并且做替换。

RedShift：PB级别 数据仓库服务。有效分析现有数据。

 

Analytic

EMR：大数据分析，内部使用hadoop实现，分发数据并且支持集群（数量可伸缩）处理数据。

使用场景：日志分析，财务分析，科学模拟，生物信息学

Kinesis：实时处理大规模流动数据。EMR可能会处理相对静态数据。

处理完的结果可以发送给S3，DynamoDB，Redshit

Data Pipeline：helps you reliablyprocess and move data between different AWS compute and

storage services aswell as on-premise data sources at specified intervals ?

 

Application Services

SQS:   解耦scaling a highlyavailable messaging cluster

SNS：all messages published to Amazon SNS are stored redundantly acrossmultiple

availability zones.（HA）

cloud Search :        website or application 搜索

Elastic Transcoder: 媒体类文件转换

 

 

Deploymentand management

CloudTrail： 记录自己账号范畴内API calls 并将log传输给你

Elastic Beanstalk:你有所有管理权限在EB依据你上传application建立起来underlyingresources

CloudFormation： 优点做到像版本控制软件一样，控制 infra 设备的 版本
