linux install nvidia driver

1.Disable nouveau driver.Create a file at /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nouveau.conf with the following contents: 

# vim /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nouveau.conf 

2、 add below contents: 

     blacklist nouveau 

     options nouveau modeset=0  

3.#sudo dracut –force --> #reboot 

4.Copy drive to SUT 

5.Install driver(driver installation requires to be run in text mode, and make sure no mods driver loaded before install GPU driver) 

   # init 3  

 6.Install the GPU driver. for Quadro GPUs, if the GPU is going to display, then “--no-opengl-files” option is not needed. 

  # ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-352.41.run --no-opengl-files 

7.Reboot system 

8.Check GPU device status with command 

# nvidia-smi 

Driver Uninstallation 

1.As root user, navigate to you driver folder, run the below command to uninstall the driver you installed before. 

#nvidia-uninstall 
2. Reboot system.
