【英语演讲】Commemorative Speech

写在前面：

本专栏用于收纳我本学期在《英语演讲》课上的present的所有演讲文稿，一来是记录文案防止在自己电脑上误删了hh（虽然成功传上来我可能就立马会删掉orz），二来是方便大家学习与交流（啦）。如果之后有时间+final score还不错的话，我可以写一下这门课的“通关技巧”，供同校的朋友们参考~

The New Journey In CAU

Ladies and gentlemen:

In the beginning, I’d like to extend my warmest welcome to all the freshmen students for pushing their way toward China Agricultural University. Congratulations! You’ve made it! As a student representative, today I will share my experience, give some personal suggestions, and hopefully ease your concern about college life.

Two years ago, I was sitting in the crowd as a freshman student just like you, meeting new people from all over the country, settling into the dorm room, and having a first meal at the school canteen. By the way, please don’t panic if you happen to find some bugs in your plate, they contain high protein after all. I was excited about the novelty but I also felt confused about my future. I couldn’t help but wonder—am I ready?

So, the first message I have for you is to never stop being curious about the world. Curiosity and open discussions are always needed, which requires collaborative efforts through teamwork. Without teamwork, you will not see your limits. Without teamwork, you will not hear other amazing ideas. Without teamwork, you will not realize the real creativity. So, don’t regard group homework as a disaster. Instead, cherish every class discussion and group presentation. Learn how to communicate with your partners and grow together. This is not only where creativity is achieved, but also where friendship starts.

So, the next message is that it’s high time to choose your friends, and your soulmate if possible. One thing they share in common is that they are both centered by love. Love isn’t just about telling someone I LOVE YOU 3000 TIMES. Love means mutual understanding, mutual trust, mutual responsibility, and is the very thing that can get you out of the darkest times. Another important thing about love is to love yourself first. Learning how to love yourself in the first place is the very prerequisite to know how to love others.

OK, no more lecture. Keep it in mind that teamwork and friendship matter. Again, back to the question I asked myself two years ago. Are you ready? The answer may still be vague but you will find it eventually with the power of curiosity and love. So here I give you the last message. Welcome aboard CAU and we wish you a pleasant journey!
