The structure of brain: (from bottom to up) 1.brainstem 2.cerebellum 3.thalamus 4.cerebrum
一、What is brainstem?
The brainstem is broken down into three individual structures: 1. Medulla oblongata 2. Pons 3. Midbrain.
The functions of these three parts are digestion, circulation, and breathing, respectively.
the up of the brainstem is covered with sensory nerves. The down of the brainstem is covered with motor nerves.
二、What is cerebellum?
The main functions of the cerebellum are body control and motion memory. So as you do sports, the cerebellum is going to give you coordination and motor memory.
三、What is thalamus?
The thalamus is going to take the responsibility of sorting data. And there is an incredibly important structure called the hypothalamus. It is accountable for homeostasis, such as temperature controlling.
四、What is cerebrum?
There is something called the corpus collosum. It is a connection of the nerves in between the two hemisphere. We put kind of on the left side of our brain, like mathematical reasoning and logic. And things that we put on the right side like facial recognition.
The basal ganglia is made up of a bunch of nuclei, which all of these together make up of what’s called the basal ganglia.
Yeah, if somebody has Parkinson’s disease the the problems may be in the basal ganglia.
The cerebral cortex takes over about 80% room of the cerebrum. So it’s most of the brain itself.
The cerebral lobe is broken down into four parts:
1.The frontal lobe is kind of like the boss of the brain. It’s emotional control up there. And if we get the emotion swings, maybe something wrong here. There is a motor cortex which have the motor nerves as the output coming out.
2.The parietal lobe basically is sensation. It’s we dealing with and reacting to our environment. Go inside the parietal zone is going to find a really important structure called the somatosensory cortex. The sensory nerves are coming in this cortex.
3.We also have the occipital lobe The function of that is vision, primarily vision.
4.The temporal lobe to be important in language and hearing. It’s also important in memory.
For these four structures, It is good at figuring out specifically what are all of the different parts of the brain.
