Abstract

Face alignment, which fits a face model to an image and extracts the semantic meanings of facial pixels, has been an important topic in CV community.

yaw=0～45°属于small to medium pose（frontal view），比较好办；yaw=45～90°属于large pose（profile view），比较难办，原因有3点
(1) 关键点产生自遮挡了
(2) the face appearance varies more dramatically across large poses
(3) large pose的关键点难以标注，since the invisible landmarks have to be guessed
