ASSIGNMENT BRIEF:

Your company has been appointed as a Quantity Surveyor for a new development project at Tanjung Penyabong, Endau, Mersing. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you are required to assist your superior for a Work Below Lowest Floor Finish (WBLFF) measurement works.

INSTRUCTION:

Based on the drawing provided for the project “The proposed construction and completion of development of  Tanjung Penyabong, Endau, Mersing,  take-off the  quantities  of the excavation work, pad footing and external beam.

(100 marks)

NOTES:

The quantities and descriptions of the work must be measured and described in accordance with the rules of the Malaysia Standard Method of Measurement 2nd Edition (SMM 2) published by the Institution of Surveyors Malaysia.

Your taking-off should incorporate all the relevant characteristics of systematic, accurate, complete  and clear recording of the measurements and descriptions of the construction works.

You may make assumptions wherever they are necessary or where the required information in the documents  seems to be incorrect  or absent. However, you  should  get them to be confirmed by the responsible parties later
