Step1:install Secure Shell
root@piniheaven:~# sudo apt-get install ssh

Step2:install ufw,which is a program for managing a netfilter firewall
root@piniheaven:~# apt-get install ufw
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
......
......
update-rc.d: It looks like a non-network service, we enable it.
Step3: show status of firewall
root@piniheaven:~# ufw status
Status: inactive #make sure this is inactive,SSH Requires Port 22
Step4:check you IP address
root@piniheaven:~# ifconfig #remember your IP address,you will use it later
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 38:75:a9:28:ce:16

root@piniheaven:~# service ssh restart

Step6:install putty(a Terminal Emulator to Connect to the Server) on windowns
