Virtual(Logical) Address to Linear Address
- Locates the segment descriptor in GDT or LDT using the offset(segment index) that stored in the segment selector. This step is needed only in the moment when a new segment selector is loaded into the segment register.
- Confirms the access authorities and offset limit of the segment using segment descriptor located in step 1, to make sure that the segment is accessable and the offset(in virtual address) is in the segment limit range.
- Adds the segment base address that stored in the segment descriptor to the offset that stored in virtual address
