Why did the prisoner attack the driver?

When he had killed the guard, the prisoner of war quickly dragged him into the bushes. 这是一个含有时间状语从句的复合句，根据英语的习惯，人称代词要放在从句中，所代的名词要放在主句当中。

He could hear shouting in the camp itself. 这里的 itself 是反身代词，用来修饰它前面的名词 camp 也就是集中营。重点强调的是他能听到集中营里的叫喊声，而不是外面的。itself 在口语中经常这么用，尤其在英国英语中，比如说 This thing itself is not very important. 这件事本身没那么重要。
