On the morning of June 14th, after supervision by Huaihua Customs, the first batch of fresh fruits and vegetables from the city was released for export under the "consolidated fruit and vegetable shipment & centralized declaration" model. These goods were dispatched to Hong Kong via refrigerated trucks. This marks a significant improvement in the efficiency and quality of fresh agricultural exports to Hong Kong from the Great Xiangxi region, including Huaihua. This shipment, weighing 11 tons, included more than ten varieties such as pumpkins, loofahs, eggplants, peppers, and watermelons.
The pioneering reform of the consolidated fruit and vegetable assembly model for Hong Kong supply was initially rolled out in Yongzhou this March, followed by Huaihua as the second city in Hunan province.
President of Huaihua Mayang Blue Phoenix Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. shared the company's strategic move to expand its distribution network to supply fresh fruits and vegetables to Hong Kong's major supermarket chains. This streamlined logistics approach not only increased dispatch flexibility, but also ensured a more responsive service that aligns with the varied demands of Hong Kong's fresh produce market.
According to statistics from Changsha Customs, in the first five months of this year, Hunan Province's export of agricultural products reached 9.35 billion yuan, marking a 20.6% increase compared to the same period last year. Within this total, the export of vegetables accounted for 5.38 billion yuan, reflecting a robust year-on-year growth of 25.3%. Additionally, exports of dried or fresh fruit, as well as nuts, soared to 990 million yuan, up 176.7% year on year.
