About reading books

I am a perfectionist on technical studying, and I'm trying to change myself to be a practicalist, for I found that time is limit while knowledge is unlimited.

Each area is a whole universe. computer language, computer graphics, mathematics (oh, mathematics - this is what you should use to talk to God.), system architecture, compiling theory... I was attracted by each of the mentioned fields in the past. Every time when I got some thing really fun, I found there'll be more fascinating spots. For example the book I just finished - "Annotated STL", I really enjoy the fancy design and the superb programming skills in STL, but I've also perceived another more substantial area - Generic Programming, which needs much subtle thoughts to dig. Another high-lighted instance - MATHEMATICS - now I regret that I didn't devote myself into it in the past. I don't want to say much about maths because there's no need to emphasize its beauty, subtlety and its versatility among the natural science.

I have to mark different privilege on the books. Some deserve only a glance (in my perspective); some is only worth of reading parts of them while some need to read more than once...
