研究生复试英文准备

面试完了，电子科大的保研复试还是根据简历来问的。在自我介绍之后，用英语提问我关于我的科研成果的具体问题，用英语回答。之后根据简历的经历追着问问题。

Self-Introduction

Good morning, dear professors. It’s a pleasure to introduce myself. My name is XXX, 21 years old. I come from Chongqing, a place famed as a mountain city. As an undergraduate student, I currently major in computer science at UESTC.

Frankly speaking, I am not a talented person, but I’m very hardworking. Once I have a clear goal, I will spare no effort into this matter. I am also a lucky person at some critical moment. For example, when I was in high school, I always got great grades that exceeded my usual level at the last exam of each school year, including the college entrance examination. My interest is listening to music, and English songs are my favorite.

In terms of study, I have won a scholarship every year during the college years. In addition, I passed CET4 and CET6 with scores over five hundred.

When it comes to research, I have been studying in multi-view clustering during the last year. I especially focused on the field of multi-view subspace clustering. After many experiments and modifications, we have obtained satisfactory results. Finally, in July, we submitted a paper to IEEE Transactions on Multimedia. Also, I submitted another paper to a Journal called information fusion as the first author.

Even so , I realize that I have just learned the fundamental knowledge of computer science, and I’m eager to make further explorations. Therefore, I sincerely hope I could get the opportunity to continue learning postgraduate courses at UESTC. That’s all, thank you.

研究生规划

In my opinion, I want to divide my future plan into 2 parts. The first one I would like to call it the accumulation part. That is to say, in the first year of postgraduate life , I will concentrate on learning academic materials. I plan to read relative papers and be familiar with programming according to my research orientation. In year 2, which I called the lauching part, I aim to publish papers with high quality as much as possible. In addition, I am also convinced that I will get the scolarship after one year’s study. That is my postgraduate plan.

 Tell us something about you hometown?
 Where are you from?

My hometown is Chongqing, which is located in the southwest of China. There are two famous rivers, named Yangtze River and the Jialing River, wind though the city.

Some people say, Chongqing is constructed in mountains. I think that’s right. You know, in high school, when I went back and forth between the dormitory and the teaching building, I felt like I was taking part in mountain climbing.

To talk about food, Hot pot is definetely the most famous and favorite dish for local people. It is considered as a symbol of Chongqing, which is specialized for its peppery and hot taste, scalding yet fresh and tender. Whenever a couple of old friends meet again, there is no doubt that a ChongQing style hotpot will be our first choice.

So, that’s a brief introduction to my hometown.

我的优点/缺点

As mentioned in my self-introduction, one of my strengths is that I am willing to do my best to accomplish the goals I have set. The second advantage is that I am an easy-going person. Now, I am very familiar with the brothers and sisters in the research lab.

I think my biggest shortcoming is that I am not good at expressing myself. For example, when giving a speech, sometimes my language organization speed cannot match my thinking. To accomplish an article, I need to conceive for a long time and modify it several times before feeling satisfied.

兴趣爱好

I‘m interested in listening to music. When I was a child I enjoyed listening to music especially cartoon music. Since junior high school, I have been like listening to English songs because I think it can improve my English ability.

Another hobby of mine is watching some electronic product evaluation videos. Every once in a while, many video bloggers will test some similar electronic products and then compare the actual user experience. By watching their videos, I can learn about the latest trends in high-end electronic products every year.

First of all, the computer science strength of UESTC has been ranked top among many universities in China. Secondly, I think Chengdu is developing rapidly, and our school also has great development potential. Finally, I plan to work in Chengdu in the future, so staying in Chengdu to get my master’s degree is a good choice.
