UML 2.0 -- Activity Diagram

1. What is activity diagram?

A: It is usually used to model business process.

2. Where to use activity diagram?

A: We usually draw activity diagram in process design or in SRS.

1. A simple activity diagram.

2. An activity diagram with parallel actions.

3. An activity diagram with time event.

4. An activity diagram which invokes other activity (Prepare motherboard action invokes other activity).

5. An activity with Objects. (Objects(order) are transferred from one action to the next action)

                        (The above diagram means: The Order object is output from "Receive Order Request" action, it is formatted to Cost object, and Cost object is input to "Approve Payment" activity)

(The above diagram means: The Order object's state is changed from [pending] to [approved])

6. An activity which interacts with external systems, people or process by using Signals.

7. An activity with interruption area.

8. An activity with partitions.

9. An activity with connector.

10. An activity with expansion region.
