Interview duration: 1 hour 20 minutes.

 

Team Management:

 

1.      Because of you are in Redmond and your team in Beijing, how do you communicate with your team members?

2.      Is there challenge to manage your team?

3.      How do you assign a task to your team member?

4.      If some of your team members are not performing well, how do you do so that you can help them with a better performance?

5.      If the performance is still poor after your training, how will you do?

6.      How do you control the workload for your team?

 

Test:

1.      Is there any challenge in your work while you were a tester? How do you solve this problem?

2.      If we have a web site, which is used to display the information of employees, and a database for storing the employees information, the web UI has ability to query the employee information over database with some kind of criteria (i.e. ID, name or DOB), how do you know that the whole querying process is correct? (That is, how do you test your process)

3.      By question 2, if we want this web site run as fast as possible, what we can do in the design?

4.      Can we use cache to accelerate the speed? How do you implement that?

5.      How do you implement a memory cache? Which data structure will you use?

6.      What is the problem using the memory based cache? How do you solve this problem?

 

Coding and test cases:

1.      Implement your memory cache technology.

2.      What core functionalities should be in your design?

3.      Could you tell me some test cases to test the implementation? Excluded the any other part of tests (i.e. UI test), just test the function.
