ubuntu 9.04 net configure

1.gedit /etc/network/interfaces

add the content:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.0.12
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.1

auto eth0

2.gedit /etc/resolv.conf

add the content:

# Generated by NetworkManager
nameserver 192.168.0.1    # it depends

 

3. /etc/init.d/networking restart

 

when install ubuntu in vmare, choose the NAT conection. after you finish install the ubuntu , it is not necessary to configure the net.
