Image Edge Detection Based on Matlab GUI Platform

Abstract：Edge detection is a very important basic topic in the image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision, etc. The GUIDE of MATLAB is a rapid development environment for the program design of the graphic user interface (GUI). The traditional methods of image edge detection which are based on MATLAB command-line or M files are not intuitive, so, in this paper, first of all, several classical edge detection algorithms are described, and then MATLAB GUI is used to build the algorithms test platform, finally, specific examples and simulation data are given. The results show that the use of GUI platform for image edge detection is interface-friendly, flexible, efficient, and strong open, its function can be constantly improved and expanded by users.
