The pallet (1) has superimposed roller-shelves (1b) on which are height adjustable pressure plates (1c) which are raised and lowered by a mechanism (6e). The roller-shelves are vertically moved by a drive mechanism (6d) which are joined to holder arms (6c) to one side outside the pallet and which are connected to facing lifting elements on different sides of the pallet. The lifting elements have upward travelling carriers swivelling on vertical axles, for the pressure plates. The drive mechanism and the feeder and discharge conveyor (3) are positioned on facing end sides of the pallet.
