What is it?
It is known as an analog signal which has the following properties (John H.):
- continuous in t (indepedent variable t could be time, distance ot some other quantity)
- it is defined for all t
- can obtain any amplitude value
- this signal could be a voltage, a current, an intensity etc.
- Both DSP and continous signal processing are based on linearity, decomposition, convolution and Fourier analysis.
- Continous signals cannot be directly represnted in digital compuers.
- Continous signal processing is based on mathematics, signals are represented as equations, and systems change one equation into another.
