Visiting a local Farm
On June 15th,50 students paid a visit to a farmland. This activity was organized by the Student Union of our school, aiming to let us leave textbooks, get close to nature and experience life.
The farm is one hour’s drive from our school. Upon our arrival that day, we were warmly welcomed by the farmers on the farm. Firstly, these friendly farmers took us to visit the stables(马厩), where we saw modern ways of feeding horses. Then, we got a chance to ride a horse. For many students, it was their first time to ride a horse. Although they were afraid, everyone was more and more excited. Finally we helped farmers do basic tasks, such as collecting eggs, feeding pigs. After finishing the work, a girl proudly told us that she cried when she was feeding pigs, but in the end, she overcame fear and mastered(驾驭、拥有) a new skill.
After this meaningful day, we all know that we need to cherish(珍惜) every product we purchase from the market, because every single grain(谷粒，颗粒) means hardship(辛苦). And we really appreciate the hard work of farmers!

A Visit to Hope Elementary(小学) School
On July 16th, the Student Union organized an activity of visiting a Hope Elementary School, aiming to improve education in poor areas. 30 volunteers participated in it. They said that it made a deep impression on them.
Volunteers prepared books and school supplies(学习用品) for those kids. Upon arrival（我们到的时候）, they saw many kids sitting in the classroom with eyes following the teacher. Those children studied really hard. In the same time, volunteers found that a host of(多数) boys and girls have a variety of difficulties in their English learning. Then, our Studennt Union held some activities to help those kids and also asked them to try their best to use English to discuss with their partners. Finally, these pupils（小学生） invited our volunteers to play hide-and-seek with them. All of them enjoyed the day!

Assisting Elderly People
Last week, Student Union in our school held a volunteer activity, which was to help elderly people in the neighborhood. 30 volunteers participated in this activity and they benefited a lot.
(It is a common phenomenon nowadays for many senior citizens to stay at home. However, they need youngsters’ care and help. Therefore,) on July 16th, our volunteers set out(出发) early with fruits and flowers to assist those lonely elderly people in the neighborhood. Upon arrival, the volunteers were warmly welcomed. Then, the young started working by helping these aged people wash the clothes and clean the room and talked with them happily. Besides, volunteers also taught them how to use computers, which made the elders very excited. When it was time for the young to leave, the elderly people thanked them for their kindness. All of them said it was such a beautiful day that they would remember it forever.
In conclusion, the volunteers activity is of great significance. Compared with better living conditions, youngsters’ company is what the aged really need. It is no exaggeration to say that the volunteer activity not only brought joy to the elderly people, but also enriched the life experience of volunteers.
