the hibernate session embodies the concept of a persistence service that can be used to query and perform query insert and delete operations on instances of a class mapped by hinerbate. session wraps the underlying jdbc connection or j2ee data source and it serves as a first-level cache for persist objects bound to it. three are three possible states for a hibernate mapped object.persistent objects are objects with database identity.once the  session is opened, it acts as cache for mapped object entities, that is any object you retrieve or save viw the opened session will now be in the session cache.

 

spring is based on the principle that good object-oriented design should come first and not be hindered by the choice of technology being used.

 

the servlet api helped formalize the usage of http in java and provide some simple constructs for dealing with the need to maintain states as required
