The rapid development of science and technology is changing people’s life day by day, as well as the teaching method in the school. The introduction of multimedia makes lecture not the only way of teaching, despite its dominant position in the history of education.

 

Some people think there is no need to maintain lecture in the school. It is said that the teachers could design multimedia courseware which has vivid sound and visual effects, and upload it onto the internet. This kind of courseware could help them to improve the quality and effect of teaching. On the other hand, the students could attend their classes in an internet-based classroom, giving them the flexibility of course choosing.

 

However, I think the dominant position of lecture could not be replaced. Lecturing is the most direct and straightforward way to convey knowledge. An excellent lecturer could act as a bridge between students and their problems. By asking and answering questions in the class can students solve their doubts more effectively and efficiently. You can even make friends with your teacher, which could enhance your studying motivation, thus cultivating sensible learning habit and studying method. A superlative lecturer can be a mentor who will explore your potentials and provide guidance as a lighthouse, paving the way for your future development in the society.

 

Although the opinion of popularizing high-tech aided teaching method sounds reasonable to some extent, my opinion prevails over it certainly. By taking lecture as the main teaching method, and adding some high-tech assistant, will the students benefit from both sides.
