Wind River Linux

Wind River Linux is commercial industry’s embedded Linux platform, which has been used in many industries, such as aerospace and defense, industrial, medical, automotive, and more.

What Is Embedded Linux?

Embedded Linux is built on the same Linux kernel as all Linux systems.  But embedded Linux have tight constraints that enterprise Linux simply don’t have, e.g. higher reliability, higher security, tighter resource availability, longer engineering support. Furthermore, embedded devices usually need to communicate with each other and with cloud resources.

Embedded Linux Architecture

An embedded Linux system is one that uses Linux as the operating system.  There are five key components to an embedded Linux system: hardware processor, hardware abstraction layer(HAL), Linux operating system, service layer, and application layer.
