This paper proposes an energy-aware framework for mobile devices by efficiently use different interfaces, i.e. GPS, 3G, Wi-Fi.
Principle/Inspiration: using prediction instead of demanding the highest accuracy can save significant energy. Give up using GPS when it is not necessary. [e.g. GPS gives high accuracy with high energy cost]
Steps:
1. when user's current location is obtained by GPS, then turn off GPS and switch on 3G or Wi-Fi
2. predict human activity (walking, driving, stationary, etc) using Accelerometer.
Additional works: shows an example of how to build an energy profile, which is better than using fluctuate real values
