How to start learning Hadoop and Mapreduce?

I would first recommend you to work through the tutorial steps descriped here: Hadoop@Apache Especially the Wordcount example that can be found here: WordCount For a single node setup I really recommend the blog of Micheal Noll: Micheal Noll's Clustersetup Tutorial If you are more the book-reader type, you should definetely go for Tom White and Doug Cutting's book at o'reilly: Hadoop: The Definitive Guide share | edit edited Feb 5 '11 at 22:29 answered Feb 5 '11 at 22:13 Thomas Jungblut 3,617 2 7 20
