I never get up early on Sundays. I sometimes stay in bed until lunch time.

I’ve just arrived by train,’ she said. ‘I’m coming to see you.

5 明信片总是搅得我假日不得安宁。

Postcards always spoil my holidays.

6 假期过得真快，可我还没有给我的朋友们寄过一张明信片。（注意pass和past词性不同；整句全部是一般过去时。）

My holidays passed quickly, but I did not send any cards to my friends.

7 到了最后一天，我做出了一项重大决定。（和第3句一样，和day意义相关的时间状语介词用on。）

On the last day I made a big decision.

8 他正在澳大利亚。他在那儿已经6个月了。（注意现在完成时延续性动词搭配时间段的用法。）

He is in Australia. He has been there for six months.

He has gone to Alice Springs, a small town in the center of Australia.

10 我弟弟以前从未出过国。（have gone to 和have been to 的区别。）

My brother has never been abroad before.

11 他觉得这次旅行非常激动人心。（find 宾补句型。）

He is finding this trip very exciting.

12 该鸟只用了三分钟就飞完了全程。

The bird covered the distance in three minutes.

13 到目前为止，Mr Scot从一个汽车修理部向另一个发送了大量索取备件的信件和其他紧急函件。（a great many 和a great number of 注意区分！）

Up to now, Mr. Scott has sent a great many requests for spare parts and other urgent messages from one garage to the other.

In this way, he has begun his own private telephone service.

On Wednesday evening, we went to the Town Hall.

It would strike twelve in twenty minutes’ time.

10 她在击琴键时用力过猛，损坏了两根琴弦。（strike 2）

She struck the keys too hard and two of the strings were broken.

11 父亲的一个朋友正在修理这件乐器。（注意双重所有格/现在进行时下的被动语态。）

It is being repaired by a friend of my father’s.

I was having dinner at a restaurant when Harry Steele came in.
