With each choice that we face there are almost always two options — to take an easier or a harder path. Easier path feels safer as it typically represents our comfort zone. Our personal status quo.

我们面临的每一个选择，几乎总有两种选择 - 采取容易或艰难的道路。轻松的路径更安全，因为它通常代表我们的舒适区。这就是我们的个人现状。

The harder path is full of unknown. It brings the feeling of unease. It asks for more effort. It feels tiresome. All these feelings show a potential for growth. And what’s less obvious — a potential for bigger happiness.

Happiness does not stem from the easy. It is born in the difficult. No one gets truly happy from laying on the couch. But people get happy from climbing the mountains, sailing the oceans, running marathons.
