Bragg Creek couple moves spirit
Infusion Contemporary Cuisine chef Air Bouphasiry was photographed in his new Evergreen restaurant on Jan. 30, 2014. And in Bragg Creek, few business suffered more damage than Infusion, a restaurant that had stood near the banks of the Elbow River for more than 12 years. It was so badly damaged that the building has since been demolished, along with the house behind it in which the restaurant owners lived.
But the spirit and energy of Air and Nok Bouphasiry wasn't washed away in the flood. (587 296 4555). The Bouphasirys chose the southwest location to allow better access for all their loyal Bragg Creek and Priddis area customers.
The energetic couple, along with daughter Cristina and son Max, renovated the former pizza restaurant, turning the 80 seat room into a bright, comfortable dining room. (Cristina is the creative mind behind the new look, while Max acts as general manager and Nok handles administration.) Booths were re upholstered, floors were re finished, new lights were installed and window coverings were added to shield some of the natural light. There's even a private room that can handle a couple dozen people.
The new Infusion is a sunny room with full length windows to the east and south, which fits perfectly with the Bouphasirys' breakfast and lunch theme. And from Friday through Sunday, it's open for dinner, too.
Born in Laos to Chinese parents, Air Bouphasiry nfl jerseys china is classically trained in French and Italian cuisines and has worked in restaurants such as La Caille and Osteria de Medici. So, much of his menu pastas, lamb chops, seafood crepes is traditional. Infusion will be one of 15 restaurants and food purveyors sampling foods at the Second Annual Taste of Bragg Creek on Friday, Feb. 28. Among other places participating will be Bavarian Inn, Bragg Creek Steak Pit, Cinnamon Spoon, Wok On, The Powderhorn Saloon and Bernard Callebaut of Papa Chocolat. Wines and spirits will be available, too.
The event Wholesale Jerseys will take place at the Bragg Creek Community Centre (23 White Avenue), where both admission and parking will be free.
