Symptoms

The compile command frmcmp_batch.sh gives a segmentation fault after upgrade to 10.1.2.2.0

error /opt/oracle/app/oracle/product/mid10g/bin/frmcmp_batch.sh: line 57: 12780 Segmentation fault
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/frmcmp_batch $*

Error only occurs when NLS_LANG is set at compile time to something other than American.

(For example NLS_LANG=SPANISH_SPAIN.WE8ISO8859P1)

Cause

The cause of this problem appears to be the same issue as that as has been identified and verified in  Bug 5841733 - WITH NLS_LANG=TURKISH_.... FRMCMP_BATCH.SH GIVES CORE DUMP which is still under investigation.

Solution

 Install oneoff  Patch 5527100  if available to resolve this issue

or

Set NLS_LANG to American_. then compile the form.

(For example NLS_LANG=American_SPAIN.WE8ISO8859P1)

Then for runtime in the default.env set NLS_LANG back to your desired setting.

 

Attention:

Read the readme of the patch carefully, because before installing this patch it needs for some platforms to apply other patches first.
