Goal

Create a Make Item, BOM with primary component and Substitute component.

Substitute item is having on hand quantity.

Created a demand for Make item and ran the ASCP Plan.. System is pegged to the available on hand
quantity of Substitute component. In the planning work bench it shows correctly. But after release
from the planing work bench. In the discrete job, instead of showing substitute component in the
Job, it shows primary.

This issue occurs only when ran the WEEKLY Bucket Plan.

When running a Daily bucket plan, it is working fine, i.e. in the planning workbench
it shows the substitute component and in the discrete job, it shows the substitute component.

It is not working for weekly bucket plan. but in our business we are going to use weekly bucket
plan.

Solution

The release program releases the details of a planned order (resource requirements, component
requirements) as computed by a plan ONLY in DAILY buckets.
These details are not passed in WEEKLY/PERIOD buckets. This is by design.
Please extend the daily bucket if you want the release of planned order details further into the
future.

This is when we release the details to WIP from the ASCP workbench.
We will not release and populate the details in MSC_WIP_JOB_DTLS_INTERFACE when:
· Plan is Unconstrained
· If the user has made changes to the the Implement Quantity or Implement Date
· OR user firms job and change Firm Date or Firm Quantity
· Alternate BOM/Routing is changed during release
· If their is compression of the job by EDD Constrained plan
AND the profile option setting MSC:Release WIP Details if Order Date different then BOM Revision Date – No
· The release action is for a job is in Weekly or Period buckets of the plan

When we do not release details, then substitutions will not pass from ASCP to WIP.
