We aleady know 一 is one, 二 is two, then, guess what is 十?
The cross 十 is ten. Eh, a little bit surprised.
From this lesson, I will not teach the pronunciation of each char. Instead, I suggest you to look up the char in online dictionary and listen to its pronunciation.
Let’s continue, by add a square to 十, it’s 田 which means the field.
力 means the force.
男 means the man, who can work at the fields.
女 means the woman.
西 means west
要 means want, it’s also a little bit surprised.
At last, we study a short sentence, 要不要?which means do you need?do you want? And you can answer 要(that is yes), or 不要(that is no).
Please be noted, although 不 is “deny definitely”, 不要 sometimes equals to 要, depending on its contexts. If you cann't judge, you must ask again to confirm.
OK. Let's call it a day. And from next lesson, we will study Chinese by short dialogues in some common daily life scenes.
