If not finished however, we know that name now holds a component in the middle slashed of the pathname.Then function walk_component will be called to walk over the component at present.
if (unlikely(!*name)) {
OK:
/* pathname or trailing symlink, done */
if (!depth) {
nd->dir_uid = i_uid_into_mnt(mnt_userns, nd->inode);
nd->dir_mode = nd->inode->i_mode;
nd->flags &= ~LOOKUP_PARENT;
return 0;
}
/* last component of nested symlink */
name = nd->stack[--depth].name;
link = walk_component(nd, 0);
} else {
/* not the last component */
link = walk_component(nd, WALK_MORE);
}
Symlink, symbolic link.The OS support such symlink to aim at certain files so when you operate the link, you actually find the file itself though the pathnames are different.
If it's done, call i_uid_into_mnt to link the file with users, save i_mode and remove LOOKUP_PARENT symbol, then return 0 and finish the function.
If it's the last component of nested symlink, find in the stack(which saves messages of recursion) name and call walk_component to handle the link.
If its' not finished yet that is if *name isn't finished, call walk_component and walk over the step to the next component.
