centos5 下安装VMware server 虚拟机

 

wget http://download3.vmware.com/software/vmserver/VMware-server-1.0.8-126538.i386.rpm

 

rpm -ivh VMware-server-1.0.8-126538.i386.rpm

 

/usr/bin/vmware

 

提示：

vmware is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured
for this system. To (re-)configure it, invoke the following command:
/usr/bin/vmware-config.pl.

安装说明执行

/usr/bin/vmware-config.pl

 

又提示：

If you do have "inetd" or "xinetd" installed, make sure that /etc/inetd.conf or
/etc/xinetd.d exists.
The configuration will continue, but you should re-run
/usr/bin/vmware-config.pl after you fix the super-server.

 

yum install xinetd

之后再

/usr/bin/vmware-config.pl

正常了，

VMware 安装成功

 

启动之后提示要serial number

只要到网站上注册下就可以得到一个了，点 Get Serial Number

按提示操作，ok

 

 

在VMware-server for linux 下装centos，在建立分区的时候
提示：
an error has occurred. - no valid devices were found on which to create new file systems please check your hardware for the cause of this problem

 

在建立虚拟机的时候选择custom
然后在选择硬盘的时候选择ide（默认是scsi）
原因是scsi需要驱动才能正常读取硬盘
