using cmd:
c:/programfiles/commonfiles/microsoftshared/web server extensions/12/bin
Problem1:
1. stsadm -0 restore –url http://server:3963/ -filename backup123.dat
error:another site already exists at ‘/’,choose a new url or overwrite this existing one
solusion:
Delete this site collection under this application.then excute this cmd again.final it succeed.
Problem2:
1. stsadm -0 backup –url http://server:908/ -filename backup123.dat
1. stsadm -0 restore –url http://server:908/ -filename backup123.dat
when we backup and restore under the same application.then it errors with “No content databases are available for this operation”
In the Microsoft Site its has been mentioned that to restore the same site collection multiple times, new content databases have to be created. This is because, the globally-unique identifiers (GUID) for lists are preserved in the backup file and reused during restore, but the content database requires list GUIDs to be unique. Therefore, you cannot restore a site collection twice to the same content database, and must instead use a different content database.
Solusion:
Create a new application without site collection,then excute this cmd again.Finally it succeed.
