德国图宾根大学Theoretical Neuroscience博士/博后职位

学校/实验室:

Section for Computational Sensomotorics, Dept. for Cognitive Neurology, Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research & Centre for Integrative Neuroscience, University Clinic Tübingen.

项目介绍:

The positions are part of the ERC-Synergy grant RELEVANCE that investigates the neural and computational processing of bodies, which is realized in collaboration with the Universities of Leuven and Maastricht.

The project aims at the investigation of the computational neural mechanisms of the visual processing of social stimuli, combining theoretical modeling with experimental research in physiology and imaging in humans as well as in animal models (realized by the other partners). The theoretical work will combine neural network modeling, machine learning, and advanced methods for stimulus control from computer graphics.

Successful students/postdocs will be integrated into the research taking place in the Section for Computational Sensomotorics (http://www.compsens.uni-tuebingen.de/ ), which is part of the Dept. of Cognitive Neurology. The group works on neural modeling, machine learning techniques related to social recognition, computer animation, and human motion modeling, e.g. realizing highly-realistic avatars and VR applications for experiments in neuroscience and clinical research. The group

伦敦大学下属学院癫痫,阿兹海默方向博士职位

Project1: Improving the ability to study epilepsy in big data: development and validation of an epilepsy case classification algorithm

This project aims to improve the ability to perform studies on the epidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology of epilepsy within UK non-interventional electronic health record data via the development of an innovative algorithm for improving epilepsy phenotype definition. The algorithm will then be applied to a cohort study addressing key unanswered questions relating to the efficacy and safety of epilepsy treatments in pregnant women.

职位要求:

MSc in either epidemiology, medical statistics, health data science or equivalent

Experience of manipulating very large datasets and of developing and implementing novel statistical algorithms for disease classification

Supervisor: Dr Kevin Wing(LSHTM) Dr Elizabeth Williamson LSHTM Dr Charlotte Warren-Gash LSHTM

Project2: Predicting Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia using novel neuroimaging biomarkers

This project will apply Quasi-Diffusion Imaging (QDI), a novel, diffusion magnetic resonance imaging methodology developed and patented at St George’s, University of London to identify healthy and pathological biomarkers of brain tissue. The successful applicant will develop new techniques for advanced image segmentation and multivariate machine learning and apply these to identify and classify dementias. Neuroimaging (including QDI measures), cognitive, clinical and genetic information from the UK Biobank will be used to predict longitudinal changes in cognitive abilities and progression to dementia.

职位要求和期望技能:

Minimum 2:1 honors degree. The ideal candidate will have studied at BSc or MSc level in one of Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics/Statistics or have a background in Psychology or Neuroscience.

•Develop an understanding of Ageing, Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia and how neuroimaging may influence patient care and clinical decisions.

•Develop an understanding of the physics of MRI, with emphasis on diffusion MRI techniques, and how neuroimaging may be used in general to influence patient care and clinical decisions.

•Develop knowledge of how neuroimaging data can be analyzed with application to clinical needs.

•Gain experience in processing and analyzing large multimodal datasets that include clinical, imaging, biological and genetic data.

•Presentation of findings at clinical and academic conferences, in peer-review publications and through public engagement.

•Develop novel imaging methods and apply statistical methods to clinical data. •Understand the challenges and opportunities of using patient data in translational research.
