KPackageKit reported 29 blocked updates, but the following command fixed the issue:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

The above command is from this post - http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=89120.

After that, KPackageKit found 0 updates.
