Understanding the concept of inheritance in C++

Inheritance is a characteristic of C++. In the real world, we know that children may inherit something from their parents like genes or appearance,etc.Basically, in C++,supposed that there are two classes called mother and daughter.When using inheritance,the daughter class can access the data in mother class.But, it can’t call the variables in private sector.It can only access the variables and functions from public and protected sector.

The the function of protected sector is mainly between public and private sectors.It can prevent external function without inheritance from mother class calling the data which are in it.And the inheritance class has the permission to access the data in protected sector.

#include <iostream>

using namespace std;

class Mother
{
public:

	Mother();
	void sayName();

};

Mother::Mother()
{
}

void Mother::sayName(){
	cout << "I am sss" << endl;
}

class Daughter: public Mother
{
public:
};

int main(){

Mother a;
Daughter b;

a.sayName();
b.sayName();
}

If we want to use inheritance, we should add something after the class.

class Daughter: public Mother
: public Mother

It means that you inherit things from the Mother class,then in the main part,the object of daughter class can call the function createdin mother class.
