In order to demonstrate viciousness of crimes or attract more audiences and readers, some public media such as television and newspaper will describe crimes in detail.

If media report crimes specifically, people can realize detailed process of crimes and some criminals’ motivation. Similarly, people will know which kind of person may easily become criminals’ target. And how can criminals find opportunities to commit crimes. In this way, people can improve their prevention consciousness. Furthermore, when some potential criminals see arrested criminals are punished, they will be warned and not dare to do something illegal.

However, if giving detailed description of media is not restricted, it will have some adverse impact on the society. Some wicked criminals can receive many details of detection and arrest, they will gain some experiences of crimes. This makes them to find some loophole of police’s works which leads to more difficulties for police to solve the cases. Moreover, When civilians see some dreadful descriptions, they will have a sense of distrust of society. It will result in reduction of sense of security.Therefore, the stability of society and the mood of people are affected.

In my opinion, media should reduce reporting on details of crimes. Some teenagers have no opportunity to receive good moral education, they are not able to make a clear distinction between right and wrong. They will receive some negative information from seeing descriptions of crimes, this may arouse their desire for crime. This could become one of factors of juvenile delinquency.

In conclusion, I think reporting on detailed description of crimes should be restricted.Although some reports can act as deterrence, they will have some influence on the society.

 

 

 

Giving detailed description of crimes in newspaper and on television and media should be restricted.To what extent you disagree or agree?

 

为了体现出案件的恶劣或者吸引观众,现在有很多的媒体例如报纸或电视节目会详细的报道并且具体地描述案件.

如果媒体对案件进行一些细节的报道,那么人们可以了解到案件的具体过程和罪犯的作案动机,一般罪犯会对哪些人进行犯罪以及罪犯一般如何找到犯罪机会.这样可以增加人们的防范意识.另一方面,当一些潜在的罪犯看到这些罪犯收到惩罚,那么会对他们产生警示作用.

但是,如果不对媒体报道犯罪细节进行限制,那么会产生一些不好的影响.一些罪犯看到一些破案细节或抓捕细节,会吸取到一些犯罪经验,这样他们犯罪的时候就会避开一些漏洞,使得警方工作的难度加大.当民众看到一些犯罪细节的时候,会对社会产生不信任感,这会降低他们工作以及生活的时候的安全感,这影响到社会的安定和公民的情绪.

在我看来,应该对媒体报道进行一些限制.一些青少年没有得到良好的品德教育,不能明辨是非,如果他们看到一些犯罪的细节,会接收到一些负面信息,可能会激发他们心里的一些犯罪欲望.这会成为某些青少年犯罪的因素之一.

简而言之,我认为应该对媒体报道加以限制,虽然案件报道可以震慑潜在罪犯,但对社会会造成一些不良影响.
